Shane Owens, DPT

Physical Therapist

Shane is originally from a small town in Wyoming. Growing up, he was highly active, participating in a variety of sports. A significant injury in high school, when he broke his ankle, set him on his path toward physical therapy after undergoing surgery and rehabilitation.

Shane earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from BYU-Idaho and went on to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.

As part of the Movement Plus team, Dr. Shane collaborates with a multidisciplinary group to provide patient-centered care tailored to individual goals. His expertise includes manual therapy, post-operative rehabilitation, and movement assessment. He holds certifications in advanced manual therapy techniques, functional movement screening, and high-velocity thrust manipulation, all of which ensure the application of evidence-based approaches in his practice.

Outside of his professional work, Shane enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. The family loves exploring the outdoors through activities like mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and camping. Since moving to Hawaii, Shane and his family have also embraced the island lifestyle, discovering a passion for surfing and beach life.
